Absence John Voulgarakis 1 - October 24 *absence,
(noun); the time during which a person or thing is not where he/it should
or could be; the non-existence, the lack of. "When
I'm not here, does the world still exist?" How much does the human
absence or presence affect the space? Are we really changing objects
around us? And when we're gone, do they keep something from us? Questions
almost metaphysical; impossible answers. Reading the photos through the
aspect of whether we put our mark to objects and spaces we leave behind. Reading
in search of "present--absent".

Voulgarakis lives in He
studied graphic arts and photography and has obtained a bachelor degree
from Greek Open University on the subject of «Greek Culture». He
works as a professional photographer since 1997. Currently
he is collaborating with National Hellenic Research Foundation (N.H.R.F.)
and National Documentation Center (N.D.C.) on a production of digital
photographic replicas of tetstimonies («PANDEKTIS»- Digital Thesaurus of
Primary Sources for Greek History and Culture). Moreover he works on
digital photographic process and he teaches digital photography courses in
several institutes. His
work has been exposed on several collective and personal exhibitions.
