“Absent presence”

In the photos of this unit human presence is clearly suggested though it is not being shown. The short stories about these photos can be different depending on the imagination of each observer ever. 

Sometimes human tracks - those small details proving what had happened before or what will happen afterwards - can be stronger and more descriptive than natural human presence and actions and this was what the photographer wished to succeed.

Elena Ganda, was born in 1960 in Thessaloniki , Greece where she has been living until now.

She started dealing with photography many years ago, in an amateur, self-taught and lonely way.

Only just two years ago she decided to share her love for photography with other photographers, to get acquainted, to study, to be taught.

She attended a photography course at Thermi Photography Team under the excellent photographer Tasos Schizas. So, new perspectives appeared before her, she enriched her photography experiences and finally she decided to expose her self and communicate through her photos.  

On December 2009 she participated in Cheap Photo 2009 organized by Thessaloniki Photography Center and on June 2010 she participated in the “Moments and Faces”   Photography Team exhibition of Municipality of Thermi.

She is a member of Thessaloniki Photography Center since March 2010.

This is her first individual exhibition.
