Closed The subject of the exhibition under the above
title was given so that the photographers would have the opportunity to
talk out of senses, using a non formalistic photography, to express
themselves politically. In order to have the chance through their photos
to stand opposite to what is happening in Greece today, to tell their
opinion about the difficult times we are living in, about the
relationships’ changes we notice between people the
last few years , about the unworthiness of public life, the
demolition of political values and why not about the resistance to the
crisis that is articulated when
it is articulated. This is the result.
A joined group exhibition which tries to cover, through many
partial views, all the things we could consider that are registered in the
country and its institutions in crisis. Among them,
maybe the art as well? The
objects, the installations, the landscapes, the relationships, the
situations are closed. People of this country differ from the stereotypes
of lightsome holidays.
The reactions and the struggles of a very small part of its
habitants, the ones who do not let themselves and
try to stop the downslope, are also present in this exhibition. Of
course, each photographer who participates
gives his own content in the meaning of ’critical times’,
contributes on his own way of approaching the exploration of this country
and its problems, and express themselves using their own form. We should
never forget that a political being goes through a deeper personal one.
